More than a half a century has passed since Doctors Glen F. Baker and William K. Bell founded their small, independent laboratory at 814 Cobb Street in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Beginning in 1965, the Northeast Arkansas Reference Laboratory played a vital role in the practice of modern medicine in this area by providing anatomic and clinical laboratory services to surrounding communities. Dr. Don B. Vollman Jr. and Dr. Joe T. Wilson Jr. joined the group shortly thereafter.  The business was moved to 411 East Matthews Street, and the practice continues from that location today as Doctors Anatomic Pathology Services / Arkansas Anatomic Pathology Laboratory

(DAPS/AAPLS). Our lab was the first laboratory in the region to attain accreditation by the College of American Pathologists and the tradition of continued excellence and dedication to quality continues today.

The group has expanded to 8 pathologists who are all Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and are Diplomats of the College of American Pathologists. Subspecialty training in Cytopathology, Immunopathology and Hematopathology give extra areas of expertise to the practice. DAPS is accredited and certified by CLIA and The College of American Pathologists.  Our team includes experienced and dedicated cytotechnologists, pathology assistants, histotechnologists and a dedicated administrative support staff. DAPS provides laboratory directorship services for 10 regional hospitals and multiple regional physicians' office practices.  Our pathologists, technicians, and administrative staff are dedicated to serving the anatomic laboratory needs in the Northeast Arkansas region by providing high quality, accurate and timely results in order to provide excellence in patient care.
